Nothing Gets Crossed Out

She entered the house she believed she had earned

Without one second glance back to the sun.

A choice was made, be happy or else….

“This all that you deserve.”

He longingly gazed back, too hesitant to move forward.

It hadn’t been long, and his lust yearned for the bright light

Everything went wrong, it all fell apart

“You’ve made it this far, but somewhere along the way you left your heart.”

She silently observed herself, falling deeper down inside

awakening anew every single day

although unaware of surrounding illusion, complete nonetheless

She gained wisdom of inner balance and outer chaos.

He impatiently made the setting more beautiful.

And stole the breath from within All.

You’ve never seen anything more spectacular

wrapped up in hallucinations and phantasms

Just as the earth had stopped shaking

and her foundation began to repair

the floods began, violent and deceptive,

yet translucent and obviously on schedule

He was drowning in a sea of antipathy

And wore no mask for another’s benefit

How could this happen again so soon?

All precautions had been taken.

It wasn’t numbness that consumed her

but betrayal in it’s highest form

All bets were off, from now until eternity

Everything is deception; everything will fall apart

He used his power as if he’d known all along

and perhaps somewhere he had

he gave back their breath, now changed forever

and they still died anyway

she recalled a night, under a bright full moon

when she’d seen her life unfold

although a bittersweet taste still appears sometimes

she knew she’d transformed all of her wishes into reality

….and that it’s all real and true and nothing less than divine.
